4. Product Introduction (Anti-Template)
When a VME system needs flexible, high-density I/O without redesigning the backplane, the TVME200 acts as the bridge. It accepts up to four single-size IndustryPack modules (or two double-size) and maps their I/O, ID, and memory spaces into standard VME address ranges.
Front-panel 50-pin ribbon connectors give direct access to every IP I/O line. The –20R variant also routes selected lines to the VME P2 connector for rear I/O. Address decoding is set by rotary switches, interrupt routing can be hard-selected or programmed, and each IP power rail is protected by self-healing fuses and RF filtering. The board operates across the full industrial temperature range and was widely used in process control, medical, telecom, and traffic systems before its discontinuation.

5. QC, Procurement & Logistics SOP
- Inbound Verification – Confirm full marking (TVME200-10R or –20R), rotary-switch positions, connector condition, and LED functionality. Photograph labels and any revision markings.
- Live Rig Testing – Install in a 6U VME chassis, verify address decoding, IP slot detection, interrupt routing, and basic read/write access to each occupied IP slot.
- QA & Anti-Static Packaging – After functional pass, protect connectors, clean the board, and seal in anti-static shielding with desiccant and humidity indicator.
- Global Logistics & Export Compliance – Classify under the correct HS code for industrial computer boards. Packaging is rated for air and sea freight vibration; export documentation is prepared to minimize customs delays.
6. Technical Pitfalls & Integration Warnings
Address Map Conflicts – Incorrect rotary-switch settings can overlap Short I/O or memory windows with other VME boards, causing bus errors or system hangs. Always verify the complete VME address map before installation.
IP Module Compatibility – The carrier supports only 8 MHz IndustryPack modules and does not provide DMA. Higher-speed or DMA-dependent IPs will not function correctly.
Rear I/O Variant Selection – Ordering the –10R when rear I/O is required (or vice versa) forces a later board swap. Confirm P2 routing needs before purchase.
Power and Fuse Behavior – Self-healing fuses protect the IP slots, but repeated over-current events can still degrade performance. Check IP module current draw against the carrier’s supply capability.

7. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the realistic global lead time for a verified TVME200?
As a discontinued product, stock is limited to surplus or refurbished units. Typical lead time after verification is 3–10 business days plus standard air freight.
What is the difference between TVME200-10R and TVME200-20R?
Both provide front-panel I/O. The –20R additionally routes I/O lines from IP C and IP D to the VME P2 connector for rear-panel access.
How many IndustryPack modules can it hold?
Up to four single-size or two double-size IndustryPack modules.
Does it support 32 MHz IP modules or DMA?
No. The interface is fixed at 8 MHz and does not support DMA.
What operating temperature range does it cover?
–40 °C to +85 °C.
Is the product still in production?
No. Official Last-Time-Buy was 28 February 2022. Units available today are surplus or refurbished stock.
What software support is typically available?
TEWS previously offered carrier support packages for VxWorks, Linux, Windows, LynxOS, and QNX. Availability of current drivers depends on the specific operating system version in use.
