GE PCIE-5565PIORC — the low-profile PCI Express reflective memory node card from the RFM 5565 family — is now held in tested stock at our Dubai facility for immediate dispatch across the UAE and the GCC. Where Ethernet cannot deliver the determinism a hard real-time system demands, the GE PCIE-5565PIORC remains the reference solution.
What Reflective Memory Actually Solves
A reflective memory network is a shared-memory system in which each node holds its own physical copy of a common data set. When one processor writes to its local memory, the hardware autonomously replicates that write to every other node on the network over fibre.
The critical point for system architects: the transfer is software transparent. There is no protocol stack, no driver call, no I/O overhead. The application simply reads and writes local memory. Latency between nodes is measured in hundreds of nanoseconds, and — more importantly — it is bounded. Ethernet can be fast; it cannot be deterministic in the way a hard real-time simulator or a closed-loop control system requires.
Reads are served from local SDRAM at local-memory speed. Writes are broadcast over a 2.12 Gbaud fibre-optic path. Transmit and receive FIFOs absorb peak bursts so that host bus performance is not degraded.

Ordering Codes — Read This Before You Buy
The suffix is not cosmetic. It fixes two things you cannot change later without replacing the card: memory size and fibre transmission mode.
RFM 5565 family suffix logic:
| Suffix | Memory | Transmission |
|---|---|---|
-110000 |
128 MB | Multimode |
-111000 |
128 MB | Single mode |
-210000 |
256 MB | Multimode |
-211000 |
256 MB | Single mode |
PCIe-form variants also appear under codes such as PCIE-5565PIORC-100A00 and PCIE-5565PIORC-200A00.
Two failure modes we see constantly. First, mixing multimode and single-mode cards on the same link — the reach and optics do not match and the ring will not close. Second, ordering a truncated or mis-transcribed suffix. If the code you have been given is not a complete six-character string, treat it as unverified. Send us a photograph of the board label and your network topology, and we will confirm the exact configuration in writing before you raise a purchase order.
Core Competitive Advantages
1. Determinism, not just bandwidth. Bounded sub-microsecond latency is the property that makes hard real-time closed-loop operation possible. No amount of Ethernet throughput substitutes for it.
2. Zero software overhead. Data sharing is transparent to the application. Integration effort collapses compared with a message-passing architecture, and there is no protocol jitter to characterise.
3. Scales to 256 nodes over 10 km. Single-mode fibre allows genuinely distributed architectures — separate buildings, separate plant areas — without abandoning determinism.
4. Operating-system and platform agnostic. Because sharing happens in hardware, mixed-vendor and mixed-OS node populations interoperate on the same network.
5. Galvanic isolation by design. A fibre-optic data path means no ground loops and strong EMI immunity — material in power-plant and industrial environments.
6. Low profile. The PCIe form factor fits 1U and 2U chassis where a full-height card simply will not go, which is frequently the deciding constraint in simulator and rack-dense installations.
Typical Applications
- Flight, marine and driving simulation and training systems
- Power plant and turbine training simulators, including GE Mark VI / Mark VIe environments
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test rigs for oil, gas and automotive
- Industrial process control requiring deterministic inter-node data sharing
- High-rate data streaming and acquisition
- Test ranges, telemetry and defence/aerospace ground systems
- Research and university real-time laboratories across the UAE

We hold cards in Dubai, together with companion RFM 5565 hardware including ACC-5595 hubs and fibre assemblies. Condition — new, new-surplus or professionally refurbished — is stated explicitly on every quotation. Each card is functionally tested before dispatch and ships with a test record.
UAE delivery is typically next working day; Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain within 3–5 working days. All shipments include a commercial invoice and certificate of conformity for customs clearance, with a 12-month replacement warranty.
Frequently Asked Questions
Up to 170 MB/s on the network with 64-byte packets, over a 2.125 GHz serial fibre link, with node-to-node latency in the hundreds of nanoseconds.
How many nodes can one network support? Up to 256, in ring topology or in star topology using an ACC-5595 / HUB-5595 hub.
Multimode or single mode — which do I need? Multimode supports up to 300 m between nodes; single mode up to 10 km. Every card on a given link must match. Confirm against your site fibre plant before ordering.
Can I mix 128 MB and 256 MB cards on one network? Node memory size is a per-card attribute, but the shared memory window must be configured consistently across the network. Confirm your intended memory map with us or against the RFM 5565 documentation before mixing.
Does it work with non-GE hosts and other operating systems? Yes. Replication is performed in hardware and is transparent to the host, so mixed-platform networks are normal.
Is this part still in production? The RFM 5565 line transferred from GE Intelligent Platforms to Abaco Systems, and individual form factors within the family carry differing lifecycle status. Confirm current availability with us before specifying it into a new design.
