GE H201TI — the field-proven Hydran™ 201Ti (Mark IV) dissolved gas-in-oil analysis transmitter — is now available from our Dubai warehouse for same-week dispatch across the UAE and the wider GCC. For utilities, EPC contractors and industrial plant operators who need early warning of transformer faults without waiting months for a lead time, the GE H201TI remains the most cost-effective first line of defence on the market.
نظرة عامة: جهاز GE H201TI هو جهاز مراقبة مستمر للغازات الذائبة في زيت المحولات، متوفر الآن في مخزوننا بدبي مع شحن سريع إلى دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي.
Why Dissolved Gas Analysis Decides Transformer Life
When a transformer’s insulation system is overstressed, the oil and paper break down chemically and release fault gases that dissolve into the oil. Dissolved Gas-in-oil Analysis is universally recognised as the single best early indicator of a developing fault — long before a Buchholz relay or a differential protection scheme will ever see it.
In the Gulf, the stakes are higher than almost anywhere else. Ambient temperatures above 45 °C, sustained summer peak loading on DEWA, ADDC, SEWA and EWEC networks, and the high replacement cost of a 132 kV or 400 kV power transformer mean that an unplanned failure is measured in millions of dirhams, not thousands. Quarterly manual oil sampling simply cannot catch a fast-developing arcing fault. The GE H201TI can.
What the GE H201TI Actually Measures
The GE H201TI uses a fuel-cell sensor behind a vacuum-resistant gas-extraction membrane. It is available with either:
- The Hydran Composite Gas sensor — responds 100 % to hydrogen (the general fault gas) and is additionally sensitive to carbon monoxide (overheated paper), acetylene (arcing) and ethylene (overheated oil), covering all of the principal transformer failure root causes in a single ppm value; or
- The Hydrogen-Only sensor, for applications where a pure H₂ trend is preferred.
The result is one number, in ppm, that operations staff can understand instantly — no chromatograph, no gas bottles, no laboratory interpretation. The GE provides the fixed-instrument (Method 3) information described in IEEE® Standard C57.104.

Core Competitive Advantages
1. Single-valve installation — no pumps, no piping. Because the GE relies on Dynamic Oil Sampling, it mounts directly on one existing transformer valve. There are no moving parts, no oil pump and no external pipework to permit, weld or leak-test. Retrofit outages are measured in hours.
2. Zero field calibration. The sensor requires no on-site calibration gas and no annual recalibration visit — a decisive advantage for remote substations in Al Ain, Liwa or the Western Region where every technician trip carries real cost.
3. Real alarms, locally and remotely. Alarm thresholds can be set on absolute gas level and on rate of change — the parameter that actually distinguishes a slow ageing trend from an incipient arcing fault. Alarms are available on relay contacts, on the 4–20 mA loop and over RS-485 to your SCADA.
4. Native SCADA integration. RS-485 with Modbus makes integration into an existing substation automation system straightforward. Data can also be collected via Hydran HOST or Perception software for fleet-wide trending.
5. Scalable with optional controllers. The Ci-1 single-channel controller replicates the display and alarm functions at ground level when the GE is mounted on a high valve; the Ci-C communications controller consolidates up to four transmitters into a single communication point — ideal for three single-phase units plus a spare.
6. One of the largest installed bases of any transformer monitor worldwide. Proven technology, mature spare-part availability, and asset managers who already know how to read the output.
Typical Applications
- Small and medium-sized power and distribution transformers
- Transmission transformers on DEWA, ADDC, EWEC and SEWA networks
- Industrial and oil & gas plant transformers in Jebel Ali, Ruwais, KIZAD and ICAD
- Data-centre and district-cooling substation transformers
- Any asset where manual oil sampling intervals leave an unacceptable risk window

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the GE the same as the Hydran 201Ti? Yes. is the GE catalogue part number for the Hydran 201Ti transmitter.
Does the GE measure moisture in oil? No. The 201Ti reports a composite fault-gas value only. If you also require moisture (%RH and ppm), the Hydran M2 / M2-X is the correct model, and we can quote it alongside.
What is the difference between the composite gas and hydrogen-only sensor? The composite sensor responds 100 % to hydrogen and is additionally sensitive to CO, C₂H₂ and C₂H₄. The hydrogen-only sensor trends H₂ alone.
How many units can share one communication link? Up to 32 transmitters or controllers can be daisy-chained over RS-485, with a total cable run of up to 1200 m.
